Position Summary:
The A La Carte Line Cook is responsible for preparing and executing menu items during lunch and dinner service in a fast-paced, member-focused environment. This position plays a key role in delivering consistent, high-quality food while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the kitchen.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute all assigned a la carte menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Set up and stock assigned station prior to service.
- Work efficiently during high-volume service while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times.
- Communicate clearly with chefs and fellow line cooks during service.
- Assist with prep work, inventory rotation, and storage as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workstation.
- Properly label, date, and store all food products.
- Support special events and banquets when required.
Qualifications:
- Previous line cook or a la carte cooking experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a private club, hotel, or high-volume restaurant environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
